Tonight’s Powerball jackpot is a “mere” $40 million after Wednesday’s record $1.5 billion jackpot finally produced a winner (three winning tickets, actually). That means the hype and media attention are sure to die down, that is until the next excessively large jackpot comes along — which, according to Bucknell University professor Matt Bailey, management, might not be very long.
Prof. Bailey was interviewed earlier this week for a story in Maxim, the men’s lifestyle magazine about how larger jackpots are likely here to stay. He was also quoted in another story earlier this week.
