Two startup companies run by current Bucknell students have advanced to the semifinal round of Student Startup Madness (SSM), a nationwide collegiate competition for digital startups in which companies compete for funding from investors and entrepreneurs.
Friendress and PickUp are the two student startups from Bucknell that have advanced to the semifinals. Friendress was also the subject of a recent blog post from last month.
The group of 32 semifinals will be whittled down to just eight in late January, and this Entrepreneurial Eight will pitch their startups at the SSM Finals on March 14 at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival, an annual entrepreneurship/technology conference in Austin, Texas.
Last year, the Bucknell student startup Loco Labs made it to the Entrepreneurial Eight at SXSW.
