Bucknell University professor Evan Peck, computer science, was the co-author of a paper that recently received a Best Paper Award from The Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (ACM SIGCHI). The Best Paper Award is only given to the top 1% of papers submitted to the ACM SIGCHI.
The paper details the results of a research study, which concludes that new computer technology called Brain Automated Chorales (BACh) can help beginning piano players learn how to play faster by measuring how their brains are working. Applied more broadly, this study could indicate that the relatively new wearable brain sensor technology has great potential to contribute greatly to individually-based education.
