Congratulations go out to Bucknell University graduate Jay Wright ’83, the head men’s basketball coach at Villanova University, which won its second national championship in program history last night with a 77-74 win over North Carolina. In what will no doubt go down in history as one of the most thrilling finishes to an NCAA championship game, Villanova hit a game-winning three-point shot with no time left on the clock, the first buzzer-beater in a title contest since 1983.
Wright has a bachelor’s degree in economics and sociology from Bucknell and was a three-year basketball letterwinner.
