Professor Andrew Stuhl, environmental studies, recently garnered a 2017 Young Scholars Prize from the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology. Young Scholars Prizes are given every four years to five scholars based on their dissertation from history and philosophy of science. Prof. Stuhl completed his dissertation, titled Empires on Ice: Science, Nature and the Making of the Modern Arctic, while studying for his doctorate at Wisconsin. In 2015, he received a Fulbright Award to further his study on the Arctic region’s history.
