We Can Reduce Mental Illness in Adults If We Increase Access to Early Childhood Education

Niki Marathe ’22, a Bucknell neuroscience major, contends in this op-ed that a suitable answer to decrease the frequency of Adverse Childhood Effects (ACEs) is increasing the prevalence of early childhood education. Specifically, he wrote that allocating government funds at the state and local levels towards early childhood education would decrease the prevalence of psychiatric disorders traced back to ACEs.
