When NIL Deals Return to the Shadows, Student Athletes Lose

Freeman College of Management Professor Kylie Aikey, practice in business law, contends in this OpEd that the antitrust settlement in House v. NCAA will introduce a new era of college athletics with the creation of a revenue-sharing model between schools and student-athletes, but the settlement may have the unintended consequence of pushing NIL deals, especially those outside of major Division 1 schools and sports programs, back to the periphery, where student-athletes bear all the risk.
