Joseph Roy M’89, a graduate alumnus of Bucknell University, was recently named the Pennsylvania Superintendent of the Year. The Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators annually bestows this award. Roy will be honored with 49 other state honorees in March, one of which will be named the national Superintendent of the Year.
Roy is the superintendent of the Bethlehem (Pa.) School District, a post he has held since 2010. He has also been a teacher and held several different school administrative positions throughout his career. He holds a master’s degree in education from Bucknell. His bachelor’s degree is from Franklin & Marshall and he also has a doctorate from Lehigh.
