Bucknell University Professor Chris Martine, biology, and the Burpee Chair in Plant Genetics & Research, has been selected to receive the 2016 Dennis M. Fenton Distinguished Graduate Alumni Award from the George H. Cook Community Alumni Association at Rutgers University. The award is the highest honor presented by the alumni association to advance degree alumni. It was established in 2003 and it honors those that have demonstrated a significant impact in their chosen field of study. Prof Martine’s selection for the honor was based on his contributions in research, teaching and outreach as a botanist and leader. He will recognized for his achievement on May 1 at Rutgers.
Prof. Martine holds both bachelor’s and master’s degree from Rutgers in natural resource management and ecology & evolution, respectively. He also holds a doctorate in botany from the University of Connecticut.
