Professor Chris Martine, biology, recently received a Passion in Science Award from New England Biolabs, Inc. Initiated in 2014, these awards recognize those within the scientific community that work to solve many of today’s challenges and areĀ “unsung heroes” of the laboratory. The awards are given out in four categories: scientific mentorship and advocacy, humanitarian duty, environmental stewardship, and arts and creativity.
Martine received his honor in the science mentorship and advocacy category for “reinvigorating student interest in botany through YouTube to reveal the rich biodiversity that often goes unappreciated.”
