Eric Wengert ’16 Part of Research Team that has Discovered a New Drug Target

Eric Wengert ’16, a Bucknell University student majoring in neuroscience, is part of a research team based out of Penn State that has discovered a drug target that has the potential to lead to a new treatment for Rett Syndrome, a severe form of autism spectrum disorder.

The research team, led by Gong Chen, professor of biology and the Verne M. Willaman Chair in Life Sciences at Penn State, will have a paper soon published in the early online edition of Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.
