Gina Russo ’00, a Bucknell University alumna, has been named the new executive director of the Corporate Angel Network (CAN). The CAN is a nonprofit charitable organization that arranges free transportation for cancer patients aboard corporate jets through matching empty seats with patient destination requests. The organization has facilitated nearly 50,000 flights since 1981 and arranges about 225 patient flights per month.
Russo holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and women’s & gender studies from Bucknell. She has previously been the executive director of the Cancer Support Team in Purchase, N.Y. She also was the executive director of access and education at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in White Plains, N.Y.
