James Gilbert ’81, a Bucknell University graduate, was recently added to the board of directors at the Orvana Minerals Corporation and was also appointed chairman of the board. Gilbert, who was previously a director of the company from 2009 to 2012, is currently an executive officer of Minera S.A., an affiliate of Orvana’s majority shareholder, Fabulosa Mines Ltd. He was previously the president and CEO of First Point Minerals Corp. and Minera.
Gilbert holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Bucknell, and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania. His wife, Laura Gilbert ’81, is also a Bucknell graduate.
