Professor Chris Martine, biology, spoke about his efforts to engage the public in his work with plants in a recent article in a plant industry magazine. The piece focuses on larger efforts of biologists to reduce “plant blindness,” or a diminished knowledge among the public about plants, including how they grow and what they look like, specifically those that people eat such as fruits and vegetables. Prof. Martine’s work includes a YouTube series titled, Plants Are Cool, Too.
