Richard Pfeifer ’73 Joins AVROBIO, Inc. as Director of Preclinical Development

Richard Pfeifer ’73, a Bucknell University alumnus, was recently named the director of preclinical development at AVROBIO, Inc. a clinical-stage biotechnology company that develops gene therapy for rare diseases and cancer.

A board-certified toxicologist, Pfeifer has held previous roles of increasing responsibility at Wyeth Research, Ciba-Geigy Corporation and Shire. He was also an assistant professor of toxicology at Purdue University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Bucknell, as well as a doctorate in pharmacology from the University of Rochester.
