Trump’s Bad Call

U.S. News & World Report
IPP Review

As an expert on Asian politics and relations between the United States and Asian countries, particularly China, Professor Zhiqun Zhu, international relations and political science, is often asked for his opinion on a variety of news and events involving Asian countries. He penned a pair of op-eds recently on the subject of president-elect Donald Trump taking a phone call from the president of Taiwan. In this one in U.S. News & World Report, he says that Trump still has a lot to learn about U.S.-China relations. In this one for IPP Review, he poses a series of questions and concludes that while there may be some challenges ahead in the U.S.-China relationship, one need not be too pessimistic about the future.

Prof. Zhu also commented on the same issue for an article in China Daily.
