Professor Chinelo Okparanta Among Granta’s Best American Novelists

Literary magazine Granta has selected Bucknell University Professor Chinelo Okparanta, English, to its list of the most promising authors under 40 in the U.S. Okparanta’s selection to the Granta list, which is published only once per decade, deems her one of the most esteemed writers of her generation. Born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Okparanta is the author of Under the Udala Trees and Happiness, Like Water. She is also a 2014 O Henry award winner, and has won the Lambda Literary award twice.

Her selection was featured in Los Angeles Times and The Guardian.
