Professor John Penniman, religious studies, the department chair, was featured in this story for his viral social media post about a student asking if a source from the late 1900s, or more specifically 1994, might be considered “out-of-date” for a research paper. Penninman took to Twitter to share the contents of the message, writing “I will never recover from this student email.”
