Yet Another Salary Study Gives Bucknell High Marks

Last week, a new report came out that ranked Bucknell No. 34 among over 1,400 four-year colleges in median salary 10 years following initial enrollment.

Recently, another report based on the same initial data supplied by the U.S. Department of Education was produced by The Economist that measures the difference in actual median income and expected median income. Bucknell once again ranked highly in these rankings, coming in at No. 14 out of 1,275 in median earnings above expectation. According to the report, Bucknell graduates make $9,444 more in median salary than what would be expected.

In order to calculate what the expected earnings were for each individual institution, The Economist ran the DOE’s raw data through a multiple regression analysis and also considered a range of other factors. If you’re interested in seeing the full methodology, it is explained beginning in the third paragraph of The Economist article.
