Cynthia Liutkus-Pierce ’98 Garners Worldwide Attention

Cynthia Liutkus-Pierce ’98, a Bucknell University alumna and professor of geology at Appalachian State University, was recently featured in the High Country Press, a local newspaper in the Boone, N.C. area. The article describes her current research on the age of Homo sapiens footprints in Tanzania, which has also been featured recently in the Washington Post, National Geographic, Huffington Post, Christian Science Monitor and several other publications.

Liutkus-Pierce holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from Bucknell, as well as a master’s and doctorate in geological sciences from Rutgers.
